Acts 1:6,7- read this.... Basically says it's none of our business to know when the end comes. Men need not concern themselves. We need to be aligned with Gods word from the bible, not men bolstering up fear within us. We can't go around God and still assume date calculations, Jesus told us, we were not to know Gods timetable! -

The new doomsday mag
by Jonathan Drake inso i just took a look at this and here is the dilemma:.
where does the bible say that the world will be so literally destroyed like that?.
1. i believe one may think of the verse in zechariah or zephaniah about the dead to your right and left- however was regarding jerusalem.. 2. peter speaks of a new heavens and earth where the elements being intensely hot will melt.

The last refuge of a cult
by undercover inthe wts struggles to survive in the 21st century, what with the internet, social media, instant communication, instant video, instant music, instant porn, er, not that i'd know anything about that last one... but anyhoo.... as they struggle to keep the young ones indoctrinated, they've finally realized that sitting in wt meetings four days a week, and knocking on doors at least once a week is not appealing to millennials, and with all the new technology at their fingertips, it doesn't take but a couple of clicks of a mouse to find enough disturbing info on the wts to encourage them to fade away.. so what to do?
well, if you can't beat em, join em.
after years of demonizing the internet, televangelists, showboating religious leaders, and discouraging anything that could lead a person to question their authority, they finally figured out they can't beat em.

Don't forget, the 20/30 something's are the ones raising the young kids and next JW generation. This younger generation is really in for it, the parents, all well within my age group - all with young ones, think Caleb and Sophia are great because they don't have to parent! They ignore their kids so they can chat on their phone or post photos on Instagram. Even biblicious JW young parents will have a hard time with their kids, who can live up to a cartoon character? Those kids will end up hating it like most born ins. The cartoons are so short it's more annoying than it's worth to most young parents anyway. That's a common complaint, also, mentioning how no one at bethel is dealing with the daily struggles of parenting. Most young parents say it's ridiculous...even the new magazine on discipline has some hot. 'Please give me parenting advice person with no child, no one ever said'
WTS is a day late and a dollar short.

Using the tv.jw.org as a wake up tool with my kids
by konceptual99 inso, i have been badgered recently to do some kind of family study by my wife.
thanks to tv.jw.org i now have a really easy tool to use that not only passes this time but actually makes them question the organisation.. our sessions skipping through the delights of the monthly broadcast have been very interesting.
derision at the wooden delivery of the gb.

Good for you! I feel like I score a little victory every time something new and stupid is said on the broadcast. My husband is so irritated by the money and time spent making the trolley video....
can someone get screen shots of the rings? Herd and his helper had one and so does Morris and Lett. Herd had it on his right pinky, his helper had a similar one on his right ring finger. Is it like a brothers of Christ ring, haha?

I showed this to my husband, within 15 seconds he was disgusted. He asked if he was supposed to show this to other intelligent humans. He also mentioned it's weird, as in, "f%*$ing weird witnesses are playing non JWs interested in the literature, to be viewed by only JWs"
also.... The new Caleb and Sophia, Pay Attention at Meeting, is ridiculous. Especially as a parent....the fear, guilt, shame techniques. He was mortified they produce this crap and feels bad for the future kids who don't live up to the fake cartoon characters.
Thanks JW broadcasting for helping to wake up my husband!

21 Years as an Elder, 5 as an MS, I will never be that guy again.
by James Jack ini was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.
of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.
i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

I can't wait to hear more from you. Especially about your view and pressures of being a " regular publisher". That was what brought me here, always feeling like we were worthless scum on the bottom of the JW totem pole.
This place is overwhelming at first; all the information, research, and hilarious personalities make it a wild ride.

Good thing we didn't go this week, my kids hate the cartoons and ask me to turn them off. I guess I produced rebellious offspring, I never thought I would be so proud!

HERE'S A BOMBSHELL ABOUT THE 144,000 DOCTRINE......
by Mary injust when you think you've heard it all............in my research for my project, i was doing some digging around on the subject of the 144,000 and came across something in the wts's literature that absolutely stunned me and, being the generous soul that i am , wanted to pass it on to you to get your thoughts on this.. .
we all know that the society teaches that the 144,000 mentioned in revelation is speaking of "spiritual israel" and not 'fleshly israel' or even other christians in general right?
there are countless quotes throughout the literature that we are all familiar with that specifically state this, but to drive home a point, here are a few:.

I found this gem, I am using this angle to my spouse out of 'concern' with some of our JW understandings. It started with John 10:16 and our view of the 'other flock'. The inconsistencies with it's reasoning and then this thread on the 144k. This post was written 6 years ago, I looked up the scripture Matt 19:28 on the JW website and found this article written sometime within a year of this post I believe? I would say they read here and were covering their butt? It's this article :
W10 3/15 pg 24-28.
Sorry I can't get it to copy and paste on here.

I'm glad my children don't have to grow up being afraid of cupcakes
by Ilovebirthdays inyesterday, i brought a batch of cupcakes to my son's school.
in passing them out, i started to give one to one of the children, who was a jw.
he immediately started freaking out and screaming "no thank you" over and over.

@endofmysteries or anyone else, how did the society crack down hard on fun? I remember as a youth we had so much going on socially, we still had fun with our congregation. Now, there is nothing, it's dead. My relatives tell my husband (not born in) its due to everyone being too busy-pressures of life. But if I can show him old literature or something with the pressure or position that JWs were having 'too much fun' it would definitely push him a little. He hates the 'anti-social' unloving stance among those in our own faith let alone outside.
